We’re Invited! Join Us at "A Summers Day on Civic Street"
The wonderful folks at Another People Place have invited Ponta-Cabeça to be part of their special extended summer party!
On July 11th, we will be bringing the rhythms, storytelling, and traditional Brazilian cultures of resistance to the newly renovated outdoor space at Civic House. We'd love for our community to come down, celebrate the summer, and share this beautiful space with us.
Here is what you need to know about the day:
🌿 Outside: Party on Civic Street (4:00 PM - 8:00 PM)
This portion of the event is entirely FREE and family-friendly! FREE
From 4:00 PM, we’ll be taking over the outdoor space across the road from Civic House. We are honored to be sharing the stage with a fantastic lineup of live music and DJs. Expect an afternoon of connection, dancing, and great energy.
The Daytime Lineup:
Ponta-Cabeça: We will be doing what we do best—sharing traditional Brazilian music with experimentation in rhythms, storytelling, and collaborative performance. Come dance and resist with us!
Terra Kin: Dynamic jazz, folk, and pop blending fingerstyle guitar and atmospheric soundscapes.
Kozyeli: Hip-hop tunes that inspire authenticity, positivity, and alchemy with big energy and sparkly melodies.
Mark Quinn (Greenhouse Records): Sound-tracking the afternoon between sets with an eclectic mix of underground dance music and global sounds.
Alongside the music, there will be delicious food, stalls from local community groups, and plenty of green space and seating to hang out. (Don't worry about the Scottish weather, there will be cover for shade or rain!).
Note: While daytime entry is free, you can grab a "Free Ticket" online to help the organizers gauge numbers. We highly recommend grabbing one if you plan to come support us!
🪩 Inside: The Afterparty w/ OG (8:00 PM - 12:30 AM)
This portion is a ticketed event with limited capacity.ticketed event
If you want to keep the party going after our set, the event moves inside Civic House at 8:00 PM. Another People Place is bringing up London-based DJ OG (Oscar from Cheeky Soundsystem) for a night of brilliant dance music on their full 4-point soundsystem rig.
