Bigger Partick Picnic

Invited by Partick Housing Association, Ponta-cabeça, in collaboration with Ngona Scotland, invites you to join an open street roda of capoeira as part of the Bigger Partick Picnic on 27 June 2026.

Taking place in Mansfield Park, the roda opens a shared space of movement, music, rhythm, and conversation. Rooted in Afro-Brazilian traditions, capoeira brings together body, song, and collective presence, creating opportunities to gather, listen, and participate.

As the roda forms, movement and music become ways of reflecting on resilience, joy, memory, and the relationships that sustain community life. The street roda extends these practices into the public space, inviting exchange between participants, neighbours, and passers-by.

The Bigger Partick Picnic, organised by Partick Housing Association, Partick Community Council, and EveryStage, is a community-led initiative that supports local young people through paid event management placements, fostering practical learning, collaboration, and civic participation in the lead-up to the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games.

Alongside the roda, the family-friendly event will include live music, local performers, community stalls, and activities throughout the day.
